Speaker Information

Starr FowlerHigh Performing TeamsStarr Fowler is currently serving as Chief Human Resource Officer for Conservice, which provides sustainable utility services for property owners throughout the United States, including bill pay, meter management, regulatory compliance, and ESG reporting. In addition, Starr serves on the Board of Trustees for Salt Lake Community College. Before joining Conservice, Starr was the Chief People Officer for Vivint Smart Home, a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. Prior to Vivint, Starr served in various HR roles for companies including Boart Longyear, Honeywell and AMEC Earth and Environmental. She has more than two decades of experience in driving strategic human resource initiatives and helping organizations scale their business. Starr holds an MBA in organizational behavior from Brigham Young University and a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Idaho.
Coach AndersonFinding Purpose in Painis in his fourth year as Utah State’s head coach and is the 29th head coach in program history. He has a 74-54 overall record, including a 53-27 conference mark. He has posted a 23-17 record at USU, including a 15-9 Mountain West record. In fact, Anderson is just the second head coach in school history to lead the Aggies to a bowl game in each of his first three seasons.

Cory Wood Multi Generational Workforce (panel)Cory is the HR Manager at S&S Worldwide, an industry leader in amusement park thrill rides. He oversees all aspects of HR and the Safety program as well. Cory was previously the HR Director at Cache County and has 20 years of training and benefits experience with Utah Retirement Systems. Cory attended BYU (and is an avid fan). However, he finished his bachelor’s degree in Business Management while attending night school through Weber State University.
Paul Smith and his teamPlanning how to manage a company's workforce and IP can take many forms. From a workforce standpoint, Paul works with companies to ensure they have appropriate terms, conditions, and policies governing their employees. This often takes the form of reviewing, drafting, and revising employee handbooks and employment agreements, including non-solicitation and non-compete agreements. Paul also frequently provides trainings for HR managers, supervisors-and employees at every level-on various topics, including harassment, workplace civility, and conflicts of interest.
