Title: Doing More with Less: Pay Transparency and Compensation for Small HR Departments

DESCRIPTION OF PRESENTATION:

Pay transparency laws are evolving quickly, and staying compliant can feel overwhelming without a large HR department. This session breaks down how the requirements are changing and offers practical, low-cost strategies for building fair, defensible compensation practices with limited resources. About Cheryl:

Cheryl has over 40 years of human resources management experience. As either the head of human resources or head of the compensation and benefits department, Cheryl has been responsible for the full depth and breadth of human resource responsibilities, including performance management, employee relations, and training and development. She has designed and implemented world-wide compensation structures, programs, and policies for most of the companies for which she has worked, as well as designed the total benefits package, including bonus and stock programs. Many of the companies she has worked for have been hi-tech start-ups for which she has created and implemented the Human Resource function, as well as all employee related policies and programs, including the Human Resource Information Systems.

She has worked for several Fortune 500 companies (Nestle, Amoco, Symantec) and many publicly traded companies (Nestle, Amoco, TheraTech (now Teva Pharmaceuticals), I-Link, SCO, Altiris, Symantec). Her experience has encompassed many industries: Olympic Committee, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, hi-tech, and building materials. In addition to her Master’s degree in Organizational Behavior, she has been a Certified Compensation Professional through WorldatWork for 35 years, and also passed the rigorous certification requirements for the Senior Professional certification though SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) and the Senior Professional, Human Resources through the HRCI (Human Resource Certification Institute). She keeps her certifications current through many hours of continuous education each year

Title: "Thriving Through Change", "Managing Recruiting Challenges", "The Impact of Culture"

DESCRIPTION OF PRESENTATION:

"Thriving Through Change" - Jacklyn's presentation focuses on how HR professionals can help organizations thrive through change by intentionally reinforcing culture during times of uncertainty. It reframes the HR professional’s role from managing processes to shaping the employee experience through trust, psychological safety, inclusion, and purpose. Participants will leave with clear priorities and practical actions they can apply immediately to lead culture when it matters most. "Managing Recruiting Challenges" - This presentation explores common recruitment challenges organizations face and highlights practical considerations for addressing them. It offers insights into navigating today’s evolving hiring landscape with a strategic, people-focused approach. "The Impact of Culture" - Culture isn’t what’s written on your company letterhead, it’s how people feel when they show up to work on Monday morning.  Culture is not your mission statement or your core values on a slide, it’s how people show up, how leaders lead, how decisions are made, and how employees feel.
